50 Shades of Jungle Fever is l v lewis’s black version of e l james’s wildly successful 50 Shades of Grey. I haven’t read ms james’s book, so i approach ms lewis’s book based on its own merits. the female protagonist narrating the story, speaks an inner city black idiom which moves the action along. the characters from urban fiction are in place, the single black woman looking for wealth and romance, the billionaire who, in this case, is into s & m, the upbeat gal pal, the gay relative, the long suffering church going mother. the story is true to genre, the perfect man comes to the aid of the single woman, and readers wonder whether love and marriage will win in the end. abused as a child, at what price will the heroine rationalize whipping and bondage from mr perfect? ms lewis manages to keep her readers intrigued by postponing the answer to these questions for at least the sequel, she has promised three more books in her serial. l v lewis is comfortable writing descriptive sex scenes, what makes her sex talk all the more naughty is that she is married and a mother of four, sharing her sexual fantasies gained her membership in the mommy porn club.Product details

I've never had the pleasure of reading the 50 Shades books, only because of so many mixed reviews. I'm almost positive it wasn't as entertaining as this book. I loved it, it had me cracking up one page and the next had me fanning myself. I loved the chemistry between Tristan and Keisha. After she took a chance on something different, she was hooked. This was a fun, sexy, exciting read that put a lighter spin on a topic that some might find a bit dark. To me it was awesome and I hate that I have to wait to see what happens next. Hopefully we'll have more from Nathan his sexy brother and her bestie Jada. Great job Mrs. Lewis, I'm so glad I stumbled upon this book.
Have you ever fantasized about the elusive world of BDSM? Well Keshia sure didn't. That is until she met the sexy and charming gozillionaire Tristan White.
When I say this book rivals Fifty Shades, I mean it. As an African American female I felt more of a kinship with Keshia, than I did with Anastasia. I loved the fact that she wasn't a virgin and that she gave the lifestyle a chance, instead of flat out saying no. This allowed for some great scene action.
I couldn't get enough of Tristan and marveled at his ability to placate Keisha's mother. He had so much game he should have been the ball player instead of his brother Nate.
Triple G and Fairy Hoochie Mama were a hoot. I also loved the way Keshia correlated almost everything to movies. A girl after my own heart.
I almost screamed when the book ended, but then I remembered I downloaded the sequels. I can't wait to start the next book, Exit Strategy!
I read this book in one sitting. From the onset it read like you were either getting all the lowdown from your home girls latest escapade or you felt like the writer needed to get out of YOUR head.The book was sexy, funny, gave insight to a sexual lifestyle that many Black women find taboo and I soooo appreciated the fact that the writer didn't go through the whole mental/moral conflict of racial dating cliche that's so done to death in IR books. The characters may have had issues but their race wasn't one. It is about time its recognized that there are Black women who recognize, are attracted to and date outside their race without having to sacrifice a small goat at the alter for forgiveness or get approval from those who believe they are the gate keepers to Blackness.
I rated this book really a 4.5 star but doesn't have the Half star. I'm holding back the full 5 because I wished the book was longer.
Spoiler Ahead This book was picked for me to read in a pick it for me challenge and it was a really good pick. I have had this book on my kindle for about six months I really wasn't sure what to make of it, because I really liked "Fifty Shades of Grey" and I thought that the book was going to make fun of it, boy was I wrong and I am glad that I was. Keisha who is a singer and song writer is not really comfortable going to meeting she doesn't have the head for business like Jada who majored in it in college. Keisha is not prepared when she meets Tristan he is nothing like she thought he would be. He is young rich and sexy Tristan is also a Dom and so is his twin brother Nate who is a basketball player. This was a really good book and I liked the dialogue that was going on in Keisha's head triple G and hoochie mama. Tristan who is looking for a new sub makes Keisha an offer that she can't refuse he will give them the money to start their company if she agrees to be his sub. Although she says yes she wants love and romance and to know that the relationship is going somewhere. Both Keisha and Tristan have had difficult childhoods and both of them is not willing to share with the other. Keisha who grew up with a father that beat her and her mother. Tristan introduces her to a whole new world of kinky sex and it was hot some of the sex scenes in this book were hotter than "Fifty Shades". I also liked the fact that Jada was a sub already and she didn't share that with Keisha so she hooks up with Tristan's brother Nate. I also liked Keisha's mother she told it like it was. This was a really good book it was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling this was my first time reading this author and I am already listening to the next book in this series.
