A lady captivity among Chinese pirates in the Chinese seas Fanny Loviot Amelia Ann Blanford Edwards 9781176755147 Books Reviews
Nicely written
Typical old British style writing (eg. She never peed once during the entire novel). I was more interested in the historical side but not much here. Reads like a book for teen girls.
Wonderful descriptions of her travels in the far American West and China. What I loved most about this book is that the author is, admittedly, not a writer. This is great because most books from this era have an ornate Old English writing style which can be muddy and dry. A friend advised her to tell her story just as it happened. She did so and it paid off beautifully. I was so surprised that I liked this book so much because I am really picky and hard to impress. Bottom line great pirate account, historical but easy to read. Perfect free kindle book.
