This book came highly recommended to me and at first glance I wondered why it had as it was not the kind of subject matter I would normally purchase. But by the time I had finished the first chapter I knew precisely why. It is both the funniest novel I have read in ages, and the most surprising in terms of plot twists and originality. Just when I thought the story would settle into a familiar storyline, it took off in another amazing and logical direction. When You Like That, Don't You? was first described to me by an enthusiastic fan, its mid 1980s setting made me pause. However, I have never seen that period written about so truthfully as it has been here. But, don't worry. One does not have to be familiar with that period in order to enjoy this read. But for those of you who are, or were, it will only help fuel your enjoyment of this wonderful debut novel.Product details
